Special Requirements for
Veteran Students
A student receiving veterans’ educational benefits cannot be absent more
than 20 percent of the scheduled classes. However, under special
mitigating circumstances, acceptable to the Director of the School /
Director of Education, the student may remain in the class.
Mitigating circumstances would include, but not be limited to: extreme
illness, out-of-town emergencies, death of immediate family member, etc.
Note: All requests for excuse of absence due to mitigating circumstances
must be documented and approved in writing by the Director / Director of
Education. Appropriate reports will be made to the Veteran’s
Administration and VA benefits may be lost, reduced and or forfeited.
